Jessica Rodriguez: Reaction to "Salvation" by Langston Hughes (Blog # 2)

In my opinion, this is short story with a great message. In this reading the author, Langston Hushes, narrates one of his personal experience as a twelve years old. The author tells us this story to teach us that in order to have a clean conscience we should always say the truth no matter what the consequences may be. Also, the author is encouraging us not to be afraid of being different and not to do things just because everybody else does them. In the reading we could see how sometimes we do things that are wrong just because other people do them. In my opinion we should anyways do what is right even if it means going against other people.Finally this story tells you how people especially children can be influence by others, and how this impact could affect their lives.

Jessica Rodriguez: Reaction to "Borges and I" (Blog # 1)

Borges and I is an interesting reading because the author is presenting to us how people can struggle with them selves when they have different personalities. In this reading the part of him that he calls I is telling us how his has try to get rid of Borges but with out succeeding.
In my case, I navigate to different roles in my life by solving them as soon as possible and not leaving anything for the last minute. For example, when it comes to my life as a student and as a friend, I always put school work in front of the hanging out with my friends even though I love them.
I personally consider myself as having one personality but this does not means that I'm not familiar with the existence of people like Borges who have to personalities.
