Jessica Rodriguez: Reaction to "Salvation" by Langston Hughes (Blog # 2)

In my opinion, this is short story with a great message. In this reading the author, Langston Hushes, narrates one of his personal experience as a twelve years old. The author tells us this story to teach us that in order to have a clean conscience we should always say the truth no matter what the consequences may be. Also, the author is encouraging us not to be afraid of being different and not to do things just because everybody else does them. In the reading we could see how sometimes we do things that are wrong just because other people do them. In my opinion we should anyways do what is right even if it means going against other people. Finally this story tells you how people especially children can be influence by others, and how this impact could affect their lives.
